Nowadays, wireless communication modules are used more and more in scenarios such as factory management, modern agriculture, or smart cities. Standard installation is one of the important conditions for the stable and long-term operation of the wireless module. Reasonable operation and use can reduce maintenance and time costs.

1. Usually we should pay attention to the following matters when installing the wireless module

-> Take measures to protect against lightning and waterproof

There are often instantaneous high-voltage and large-current discharge effects in the space and time of thunderstorms. Wireless modules that are not protected against lightning are easily affected by lightning, especially equipment that needs to set up antennas. Once attacked by lightning, the communication link will be affected. Interruption, the introduction of high voltage into the wireless module system will damage the internal control circuit and cause irreversible damage. Lightning protection and water resistance are effective measures to protect the wireless module from lightning attacks and ensure the normal operation of the wireless module communication link. Therefore, as far as possible, install professional lightning protection devices according to the actual situation.

-> There must be a reliable grounding

Grounding is an important factor affecting the normal operation of communication equipment. Its functions are as follows: Reliable grounding reduces noise and other interference to wireless module communication equipment, improves the working stability of electronic components of communication equipment and ensures that electronic components in communication equipment are protected from The damage of electrostatic high voltage and instant discharge pulse; good grounding enables communication equipment to obtain a good shielding effect, avoiding external electromagnetic interference, etc.

->The antenna should be installed in a reasonable layout

Choose the appropriate antenna type according to the transmitting power of the used module (or radio station) and the distance of the transmission. Commonly used antennas are spring antennas. SMA can also be used to convert straight, elbow, folded rod, suction cup antennas or other high-gain omnidirectional or directional antennas.

Before installation, read the antenna manual carefully, whether there are any special requirements, and check whether the frequency band and power tolerance of the antenna meet the requirements.

The erection height of the outdoor antenna is determined according to the needs and actual conditions. The distance of the transmitted signal transmission, the surrounding interference and the loss of the feeder should be taken into account, not the higher the antenna erection, the better.

The base of the outdoor antenna should be well-grounded, and the installation must not be tilted. The installation must be firm, resistant to wind, corrosion, and strong temperature changes.

2. Precautions when using the wireless module

• A group of wireless modules that communicate with each other should be kept in the same frequency band, and the channel and air rate should be set to the same, otherwise, data loss and receiving garbled codes will occur.
• The wireless module should not be used in extreme environments such as high temperature, humidity, dust, and low temperature exceeding the regulations.
• Choose a suitable DC stabilized power supply. It is best to use a power supply with anti-interference, low ripple and strong load capacity to ensure that the wireless module can work permanently and stably.
• Standard installation and use of wireless modules can make the product play the best work effect. Carefully read the instructions and operate strictly in accordance with the requirements to reduce unnecessary misoperations and improve user efficiency.
