Communication Range Test of BLE Module BLE5101

BLE5101 is a BLE module launched by Nice RF, which is characterized by small size, low power consumption and coexistence of master and slave.

Here is a test report about the Communication Range for this BLE module.

Test tools:

2pcs of Ble modules BLE5101(tagged as BLE5101① and BLE5101②)

(burning test program for automatic transceiver and two-way communication)

2pcs of 3.3V batteries

The test is conducted at the avenue of Xinghua 1st Road, which is near NiceRF’s office building.

Power on the BLE module BLE5101①, see picture below

The green light welded on the board is the receiving indicator light for test. It will flash once when receiving the data sent by the opposite end.

Test Range of 150m:

Set two BLE modules 150m apart and power on. The connection indicators (blue light as the picture shows) of BLE5101① and BLE5101② are on, indicating that the two modules have established Bluetooth connection successfully and works well.

150m test: communication status of Bluetooth module BLE5101

Test result:

The connection indicators of the two BLE modules BLE5101 work well, indicating that the two BLE modules have been connected and can send and receive data when the communication range is 150m. The test is successful.

Test Range of 200m:

Observe the connection indicator light between BLE5101① and BLE5101②.

200m test: communication status of Bluetooth module BLE5101

Test result:

The connection indicators of the two BLE modules BLE5101 are OFF, indicating that the two BLE modules disconnected due to too long distance and connection timeout. The test of communication range of 200m fails.
