The antenna occupies an important position in the communication field. For example, the communication transmission distance of two wireless transceiver modules with and without an antenna is different. It can be said that the communication distance is quite different. Through the actual test, this article will share with you the difference in the transmission distance between the indirect antenna and the unconnected antenna of the wireless module.

 

Test 1: The communication distance between wireless transceiver modules without antenna

This test takes the LoRa1276F30 DEMO board of Shenzhen NiceRF Wireless as an example. The LoRa1276F30 wireless transceiver module has been welded on it. After removing the antenna, we can see that there is no antenna on the SMA seat. Power on the two LoRa1276F30 DEMO boards, and set the transceiver frequency, code rate (CR), spreading factor (SF), bandwidth (BW), and power of the two DEMO boards to be the same.

The test environment is the corridor aisle at the entrance of Shenzhen NiceRF Wireless Technology Co., Ltd. Now place the received DEMO board in a fixed position, and walk forward with the transmitted DEMO board. Pay attention to the reception and transmission of data packets. Whether the data is consistent or not very different, when the value of the transmitted data packet is greater than the value of the received data packet, that is, the moment when the packet loss occurs, stop, and the distance between the two modules is about 17 meters.

Test 2: The communication distance of the indirect antenna of the wireless transceiver module

Also, use the LoRa1276F30 wireless transceiver module DEMO board for distance test, install the rod antenna SW433-ZT100 on the LoRa1276F30 DEMO board, and set the parameter values of the two DEMOs to be the same as in test 1. Because of the relatively long transmission distance, the test environment is Shenzhen G107, Baoan District (Guangshen Highway). After actual measurement, the transmission distance of the LoRa1276F30 wireless transceiver module connected to the antenna is 6 kilometers.

From the above two tests, it is not difficult to find that the communication transmission distance of the LoRa1276F30 wireless transceiver module without the antenna is only about 17 meters, while the transmission distance of the LoRa1276F30 wireless transceiver module with the antenna is 6000 meters. It can be seen that the transmission distance of the wireless transceiver module with and without the antenna is still very large. The transmission distance of the module with the antenna is more than 5000 meters longer than that of the module without the antenna.
