What is the code matching mode?

SK509 is ahigh-power industrial grade code-compatible remote wireless four-way switchcontrol module. Many customers have asked me about the code matching mode.  In many applications, it’s required thatmultiple transmitters control one receiver or multiple receivers are controlledby one transmitter, and this function can be implemented by pairing codes.

How does the SK509 switching module perform the code?

Real-time working mode

In real time mode, both the masterand slaver will send a inquiry signal at a fixed time interval (default time is3minutes) , the other side , master or slaver will reply the synchronizedmessage. If this communication failed for for 3times, the alarm will light onto alarm , the related output will resume to open stateIn real-time mode, ifmodules never paired beforeit is in non paired mode.Each modulehas four independent input and four independent output. In real-time mode, thechange of any input of the four channels will trigger a transmission, in otherside the corresponding relay of the module will be synchronized after got thesignal, then it returns a acknowledged signal. If no acknowledged signal cometo the triggered modules, the alarm LED will light on. All the output relayswill be resumed open if no acknowledge signal received for 3 times inquiry.

For example, communication between modules A and B,

the 4 output of module A is corresponding to the 4 input ofmodule B,

the 4 output of module B is corresponding to the 4input of module A, shown as below:

After selectingthe immediate mode, if there is a channel has been matched a frequency, themodule(host or slave) will monitor the status of the input ports of the otherones. After the status changes, a wireless signal will be sent. After receivingthe signal, the other module will output the signal to  the channel that has been matched channel. Atthis time, the channel that has not been matched  will not send a wireless signal even if theinput state changes. If the DIP7 and DIP8 configurations of the DIP switch are differentwith the last power-on read status at power-on, the previous code pairrelationship will be canceled. In the immediate mode, the slave alsoperiodically sends an inquiry signal to the host requesting to returnsynchronization status information. If the host doesn’t reply a signal ,or theslave doesn’t receiver the reply signal, the alarm light on the slave willalways be on, and the output status will return to 0, and the relay will be inthe off state. For the four-to-one application, for example, the switch controlrelationship after the successful code is as shown in the following figure:

Note: In this modeof operation, after initializing the power-on, both sides of the module willsynchronize the input and output signals for the first time, so it is notrecommended to power on the host and slave modules at the same time.

Code mode

In the immediatemode, the channels of multiple hosts can be match to one channel of one slave .The code steps are as follows:

a) Each module ofthe code needs to be configured with an address ID (there is no duplication ina system). If the factory has already configured it, it does not need to bereconfigured.

b) DIP switches 5and 8 are turned ON, DIP switch 6 is turned OFF (for pair code mode); if it ishost (transmitting terminal), DIP switch 7 is turned ON, if it is slave(receiver) , DIP switch 7 is turned OFF. As shown below:


c) Short the channel INX of the slave pair to GND (ifmultiple channels are shorted to GND, they will be given priority in the orderof 1234), then power up the slave. If no channel is detected and shorted toGND, the ALT LED will flash, indicating that the code has failed. If a pair ofcode channels is successfully connected to GND, the ALT LED will remain lit, indicatingthat it is in the code mode. . As shown below

d) Turn thechannel of the host to be coded to ON (if multiple channels are shorted to GND,they will be given priority in the order of 1234), and then power on the host.If no channel is detected and shorted to GND, the ALT LED will flash,indicating that the code has failed. After the host successfully detects that apair of code channels is shorted to GND, it will automatically match the code.The LED will go off. If the process is unsuccessful, the ALT LED will remainlit.

Precautions:

a) Theslave must be powered on before the code is sent, and then the host is poweredon;

b) Only onechannel can be paired at a time. If there is no channel pair code, it is thedefault;

c) There isnocode matching  function in the timingmode;

d) Afterthe host module has a channel pairing success, the other channels that have nocode will no longer signal even if the input state changes.
